Mary Ellen Mark-BEHIND THE SCENE
Tompkin’s Halloween Dog Parade 2012.
Mary Ellen Mark & her friend complemeted me on my outfit and then we got to chat with her for a little while, I told her how I had purchased the signed copy of her book at Kisan and how I knew she was friends with the owners…..
The book we got for my brother in law, who just happens to be a film maker was:
SEEN BEHIND THE SCENE
40 years of photograph on set. 2008 Phaidon Press, London.

This new book features photographs of some of the industry’s most revered directors, actors, cinematographers, and writers including Conrad Hall, Francis Ford Coppola, Federico Fellini, Marlon Brando, Catherine Deneuve, Jack Nicholson, Cate Blanchett and Johnny Depp
Kinda cool that I got a behind the scenes shot of Mary. I have a terrible camera and was embarrassed when I asked Mary ellen to take some shots with Mr Angus. I hope to meet her again someday and have a much better camera!
In any case, if any of you have not been to Kisan Concept store on Green St, it is a magical place. They curate wonderful things from all around the world, the best of everything!
125 Greene Street
(Between Prince St and W Houston St)
Mary Ellen was there with her friend Ina Bernstein, that I also got to meet.
Ina has been part of New York’s fashion industry for over 34 years, she is the founder of Ina cosignment stores in NYC.
INA is New York’s best designer consignment store chain. Since they opened their first store in 1993, they have been accepting only the finest designer clothing, shoes, accessories, and select vintage, all carefully curated by their trained staff.
Ina is off on the far right looking at Mary Ellen at work.
